I have an older ROG Strix Laptop. A GM703GL, i7-8750h, GTX1060 6Gb, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and 2TB SSD. The F5+Fn on this laptop is supposed switches between different fan modes; Silent, Balanced and Overboost, but it does absolutely nothing anymore. The Graphics for mode switching come up on screen, but the function is just max constantly.
I use HW Monitor frequently to check temperatures, and most of the time they sit around 60-70, even while editing videos on Vegas Pro 19, but as the title says the fans are always on maximum which clearly isn't right... The peak at about 88C but only for a very, very short time.
I'm not sure why this is happening, but the fans on this laptop are loud at max RPM, so any advice on this would be much appreciated.
