DVD Caddy - How to swap it?

Hi all.

I have a G75 and i want to swap my dvd caddy with a hdd caddy since i hardly use it and want to have more internal storage.
Even though it is only sata II. (as i have read somewere)
How to unmount the dvd caddy?
Is it any screws to loosen or do i just have to pull it straight out?

There is a single screw that holds it in. Look for the disassembly guide for the G75 and it'll point it out.

Yeah i was kind of lucky there to be honest.
So it helped a lot with a good picture as of my verry lack of knowlage into changing dvd caddys 🙂

Now if someone would be able to point out a cheap hdd craddy and give instructions on how to do it on a g55... that would.. be great.

I don't think ASUS sells one, but you might be able to find something on-line, especially since the DVD drive is pretty much standard. It wouldn't likely look right, but then again, you could possible move the DVD cover plate over.

ASUS only is able to SWAP HDD and DIMM not include DVD.

Sorry Mike_Lu, but you are quite wrong about that. I just did a quick search through ASUS' e-store and found this HDD Caddy for the G75VW http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3018

Thats just the replacement mount for the harddrives. Has nothing to do with mounding it in a optical drive. And wow $22 for that way to put it to people Asus thats Apple like pricing.
