Does GL552VW Include Optical Audio-out Port?

So I have my GL552VW for almost 9 months now and I have recently brought a Philips HTiB(Home Theatre In a Box) HTB5520/94 and I was wondering if my laptop has a mini toslink inside the 3.5mm headphone port for connecting to home theatres and other 5.1/7.1/7.1.2 systems? Or is there any other way to output all the channels for a 5.1 system. AFAIK 3.5mm port only outputs stereo?

Hi mate,

There are a couple of options for getting sound to your Home Theatre:
1. The HDMI output: having a decent bandwidth, the cable can carry image as well as 5.1/7.1 sound;
2. An USB to SPDIF/5.1 sound card, something similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJl4QKpCtFI

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply mate, but there's a slight problem, you see my Home Theater doesn't have an HDMI IN only a single HDMI OUT and as for USB-SPDIF converter, could you suggest me some options? Also, my original question was if the 3.5 mm port has a digital output inside the port itself or not? If not I will just make do with Bluetooth, don't want to spend extra money on converters as of now

You could try this: https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-BEHRINGER-U-CONTROL/dp/B000KW2YEI
It's got a SPDIF out but I don't know whether it can output 5.1 or not.

The 3.5mm connector on the laptop does not have an optical output.
