Confusing report in GPUz when Gl552jx idle - Nvidia Optimus

I have an ROG Gl552jx laptop with Nvidia Optimus. When the laptop is idle, the readings for Nvidia card shows up with intermittent graphs, as if it is continuously switching ON and OFF. May I know is this normal? Or why is it happening so? Is there a way to fix it?

The Nvidia GPU is continuously switching on and off. If GPU-Z was not running, the Nvidia GPU would remain asleep. When GPU-Z is running, it will continuously wake the Nvidia GPU up so it can sample its temperature, speed, voltage, memory usage, etc.

This is completely normal when Optimus is being used. Leave GPU-Z off to minimize GPU power consumption and heat.
