CD-ROM / DVD Drive Disappears

Recently I finally tried to watch a DVD on my laptop, this being the first time I ever tried to use the cd-drive, and it did not work. My laptop does not see the cd-drive apparently. When I hit scan for hardware changes the drive will show up for a few seconds and then cease to exist yet again. Anyone know how I can fix this? It would be nice for my laptop to be fully functional.

so now, you mean your DVDROM are not showing in device manager? you can check DVDROM connecter is loosing or not, if you can dismantle.

Nah, I'm not a fan of taking this laptop apart. Thanks though, I really never used it.
