Can I place laptop with liquid metal tilted?

I've pre-ordered the ROG Strix G18 (2025) G815 laptop, and I discovered that they are using liquid metal in this model.

Most of the time, I am going to place the laptop tilted with back end raised to get better air flow as I am using a Ilano laptop cooler. However, I've seen many issues regarding the risk of liquid metal leakage if the laptop is placed titled.

Are there anyone who can explain to me whether to place the laptop with liquid metal titled is fine or it must be placed flat?

My laptop is tilted 24/7, so no problem. Just change the liquid metal after 8-12 months; it will dry. If you can, buy a better quality one because ASUS liquid metal is not the best. It will split in small amounts, but nothing serious. It has protection. Only in the future, I might get higher temps.

Thanks for your clarification, it really helps a lot. On the other hand, Asus should be using Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on that model. May I know which brand is better? Will consider when replacing liquid metal.

All laptops with liquid metal need to be placed horizontally. All manufacturers have the same problem: after a while, the liquid metal flows off the chip crystals and the CPU and GPU start to heat up more. There are stands that are horizontal and have fans that help to better bring in cold air. The best option is to configure the CPU and GPU for yourself and continue working until the warranty expires, and then replace the thermal interface with thermal pads with phase transition. The loss in power is insignificant, but then you will be sure that the liquid metal will not spread anywhere.
