I need help with an issue on my ASUS ROG Strix G17 G712LWS laptop. Recently, on Windows 11, I’ve been experiencing problems when switching power modes in Armoury Crate.
Here’s what happens: I’m using my laptop as usual, then I want to switch to a different power mode—either to Turbo for gaming or back to Silent. When I do this, the laptop freezes. However, audio from a video playing in the browser continues for a while. After about 30 seconds, it unfreezes as if nothing happened. But then, at some random point—maybe a few minutes later, maybe half an hour—a BSOD appears, and the laptop restarts.
I don’t recall having this issue on Windows 10, but I haven’t used it in a while. A few days ago, I replaced Windows 10 with a fresh installation of Windows 11 Pro, installed all necessary drivers and software, hoping it would resolve the issue—but the problem persists.
At first, I suspected my USB hub might be causing it, as disconnecting it seemed to reduce the frequency of crashes. However, even without any peripherals connected, the issue still occurs, just less often. I also have a desktop PC running Windows 11 with ASUS components, and I use the same USB hub there without any problems.
The laptop is about four years old, but it still serves me well when I travel. This issue, however, is frustrating. Every time I switch power modes, I have to wait for it to unfreeze and then manually restart the laptop to avoid an unexpected BSOD later on.
I’ve attached a dump file in case someone can analyze it and help identify the root cause. Thanks in advance!

Could be a memory issue. Press windows+r, and open mdsched.exe and select restart now to check memory, if it fails then there's hour problem.
If it's fine then update all drivers, reinstall armory crate as well and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for your response. I checked with mdsched, and the memory is fine. I’ve updated the drivers and Armoury Crate as well. I even reinstalled Windows 11, but the issue still persists.

I'm not very good at analyzing dump files, but I can share them in case you might find something useful. There isn’t much info on the blue screen itself. The only thing I haven't tried yet is installing Windows 10 to check if the issue persists. I think there were no errors on it, but I’m not sure anymore. I’ll install it on Monday and see what happens. Honestly, I have no idea what to do about this error.

Go to settings, apps and uninstall Intel Rapid Storage Technology, see if it is better after. If it is you can download the chipset driver recommended from asus and also download the latest version of Rapid Storage Technology.

Hi,
I have an Asus ROG Strix G513IH 1650. In the past few weeks, I've encountered numerous blue screens and system freezes. I had the thermal paste replaced, but the issues persisted, and additionally, one fan became somewhat noisy. Next, I reinstalled Windows and checked components like the RAM and SSD. The original SSD had some issues, so I replaced it with a 990PRO 1TB; however, the same problems continue. The last component I haven't addressed is the motherboard. I've seen several individuals on YouTube fixing similar issues, but I haven't found anyone to diagnose and repair mine. As a female gamer, I thought a laptop would be sufficient, but now I'm considering building a PC. Do you have any insights into my issue?
Many thanks

This morning, I checked the installed programs and noticed that Intel Rapid was missing from the list. I decided to install it and see if it made a difference. At the same time, I disabled the Logi service, which kept showing errors in the Windows Event Log.
Yesterday, I also switched the mode in Armoury Crate to Windows mode. In the morning, when I switched to Turbo, I got an error followed by a BSOD. But after installing Intel Rapid and disabling the Logi service, everything seems to be working fine so far—no freezes or BSODs.
What's surprising is that the issue also disappeared on my second system, running Windows 11 on a different SSD. I have no idea how installing Intel Rapid on one system could have affected the other, where Intel Rapid was already installed.
I’m not celebrating just yet since I still don’t know what exactly has been causing this issue for the past six months. But for now, everything seems stable.
Thanks a lot for your help! If the problem comes back, I’ll let you know.
