Brightness doesn’t change G16 2023

Brightness problem

Hi everyone, I have an ASUS Rog Strix G16 which is just over a month old. I had an odd problem today with changing the brightness settings. I have two display adaptors which are up to date:

1. Intel UHD Graphics
2. NVIDIA GeForce 4070 GPU

When I pressed the brightness up and down buttons, the indicator pops up on screen on Windows 11, but the brightness didn't change. I think I have had this problem once before since purchasing, but a simple restart worked which after troubleshooting worked again today.

Does anyone have any advice? Is this is a major issue? Not really sure what to do. It seems to me maybe it's just a temporary glitch rather than hardware issue? I have seen similar reports on Reddit from users with the same laptop. Cheers!

I have same laptop, and I just had same problem. GeForce experience drive update + restart fixed this.

Thank you so much, I have updated to the latest Nvidia driver which was released at the tail end of June and fingers crossed the issue gets resolved with this.

I don't know it will be helpful to you because my laptop is g14, mine has same problem.

Symptoms produced when:

I set the laptop's graphics mode to eco (dgpu disabled) before turning it off.

Then I rebooted the laptop and set the graphics mode from eco to standard...

Brightness adjustment not worked in this situation but only worked in eco mode.

To adjust the brightness in both standard and eco modes, I had to set the laptop's graphics mode to standard and then turn it off.
