Bad_pool_header bsod

Quasimodem

Well after downgrading from Windows 8, I now have a BAD_POOL_HEADER BSOD coming out of Hibernate... Never happened before upgrading to 8, then downgrading... I've tried 5 different Windows installs, using drivers from the Asus site...

Anyone familiar with the error?

probably you need to reseat your ram. is this happening frequently?

honestly, i forgot when was the last time i saw a bsod (it was many months ago, due to my careless mistake on pagefile settings). there was none ever since i fixed it.

It only happens coming out of Hibernate... I haven't gotten around to messing with the RAM yet... Looking at this dump file... Here's the info... Keep in mind, I've installed Windows 5 times now trying to fix it... But I know it's going to take more than that...

i googled for a while with that error code, most of them had one thing in common: ram test.

After enabling Driver Verifier, it seems to be pbfilter.sys causing the blue screen... PeerBlock... odd that it worked fine before though... I blame Windows 8... for everything that's wrong with world, and also my blue screen...

ah.. it's an incompatibility issue i think. sorry i wrongly assumed that you didn't install anything after the ram upgrade haha

It's cool man... I do wonder why an Asus employee would chime about memory, with by far the worst engrush I've ever seen AFTER I posted the solution...

A bugcheck analysis reported it was most likely a driver issue...

BAD_POOL_HEADER (19)

The pool is already corrupt at the time of the current request. This may or may not be due to the caller. The internal pool links must be walked to figure out a possible cause of the problem, and then special pool applied to the suspect tags or the driver verifier to a suspect driver.

It's brand new RAM... It was pbfilter.sys causing the issue... I will only run PeerBlock when I need it now...
