ASUS Scar 18 (2025) crashing when streaming on Discord

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has experiencing crashing when streaming games on discord? I have the latest Scar 18 (2025) model with a 5090 and for some reason whenever I stream games such as League of Legends or Predecessor, within minutes of hitting stream I will get a black screen, then my system locks up and I have to force restart. I used to own the Scar 18 (2024) model with a 4080 and streamed with no problems at all. 

I tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers, ddu, etc but no fix. I tried disabling hardware acceleration on both windows and discord, still no fix. It’s honestly frustrating and annoying considering how much these laptops cost and I can’t even steam a game like league of legends without crashing? 

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix would be much appreciated, but I am hoping this is more of a driver issue with the 5 series and will be fixed later with updated drivers. My temps are fine as my cpu doesn’t go over 80* degrees on full load and gpu hovers max around 75* drgrees. 

Not sure if this is may be causing the issue as I am running an external monitor 4k @ 120 hz where as the laptop itself is 1600p @ 240 hz. I noticed both games LoL and Predecessor do open separate windows from the client when the game starts. Not sure if that is causing some issues while streaming and causing the system to lock up.

Try other version of the driver's if you check in youtube the newest driver  576.02 make a lot of problem ,crashes, black screen's so try to find another version and test it again do the DDU clean install and check what will happen

Did this and reverted back to driver version 572.84. I managed to get 1 game on league of legends to stream then crashed when trying to play another match.

Have you check the others Temperature sensors 

Maybe GPU memory temps or other sensors also you can try to make a Image Window's backup that will backup everything and reset the windows or do clean install to see what will happen and if you have problem than maybe is better to RMA it

Hello,

Maybe an issue with dual GFX if discord is defaulting to the intel GPU, can you try a BIOS setting to make everything use the nvidia GPU. Enter the BIOS and set the preferred adapter to dGPU and see what happens after that. (This will ensure that the nvidia GPU is used for everything including the OS / background apps).

I am facing a lot of trouble in this model G835LX-XS98 with 5090 rtx .

Since I buy it from 10 days every day I am getting system cash and I have to force shutdown. 

I try to export vedio by using folmora and Adobe primer .

I was have rog 17 with 3070ti and it never happened any issue .

I think asus they did not do real test on there new devices. 

Any help .

For this problem you can balem Nvidia i think just go in youtube and search for bad Nvidia drivers , nvidia 5000x series crash and things like this to see how bad are the newest drivers ever some on them can broke the GPU in desktop model's and the GPU cant be start after this 

Now the newest version have more fixes you can try it if the newest GPU version dont help send it to te repair center
