Asus Rog Strix Scar II GL504GM - Battery to zero 0%

Hello,

I have Asus Rog Strix Scar II GL504GM, the issue im running into is about the battery. When my battery is below 50% (more or less) and the laptop is off, when i power it on, and it is NOT with charger on, it starts normally and when i see the log in screen, i see the battery on the down right corner on the percentage that it was before i shut it down, and sudenly goes to 0 and shuts down. And when i power it on again (with charger this time), it is 0%.

It is not draining when i shut it off, because this can be happen also if it is 50%, i shut it, and turn it on again after 15 minuts for example, so it is not drainage, also i see the percentage of the battery i had before i shuted, at least for 1 sec, so for a weird reason it remembers the % but then it goes to 0 and shuts it imediately. If it passes this second, and it not turned off, then its is ok, so sometimes it turns off, sometimes it waits for me to login as a normal boot procedure.

I have All latest windows updates, i have latest bios update 310, i am really really carefull with the laptop, not stress it, not force it, etc. I tried the tips i read on internet about fast boot, from computer or from bios or both, unistalled the Intel rapid storrage also that i read is not helping for that, also "delete" the battery from device manager so it installs its drivers again when it boots, still didnt help. The laptop is about 8 months new with extreme careful useage, and good battery charging.

Except this, the battery working fine, and this is happening once every 2-3 boots, sometimes on every boot, this is never happend when my battery was 100% charged on the last shutdown. I dont know i feel it is software issue not hardware/battery issue because it happens only sometimes not always. So guys did anyone had this issue before? can you suggest something to try? I have the same exact problem since one year.. i send my laptop to asus, they changed the battery and i still have the same frustrating issue. Did multiples factory reset, tried everything.. i just hate this laptop now.

Is Asus seeing this forum? so many more people have this issues and they dont care, so bad asus service, im not going to asus again either, not just rog, asus in general, Dell has an excelent service

same as me, and look at the date of asus system control interface, november! is near when my problems starts! They released a newer version on january, but is still the same...

You have rollback function if you try to update driver manually from that menu? i have only that driver because asus formatted the laptop when i sended... look if there's a older version installed.

If you have an older driver version try to restore the old version and test of pc work again normally... let me know because on asus driver page they removed the older versions to try! shame from asus!

I restores a 2018 version that i have in my esupport folder. I'm testing it but on my system the only way to triggher the bug is to let laptop shutdown for 10 to 12 hours, and not ever. So i will let you updated on next days

these are lithium ion batteries...

if they havent been cycled properly before regular use, and arent cycled appropriately THROUGHOUT their REGULAR use by allowing for a full discharge and full charge usually about once a week or so, then not only are you affecting the batteries performance, but the life of the battery, the charge state and retention, teh charge time, the capacity itself, the discharge, and above all, create whats called a 'memory effect' (which ALL rechargable batteries) have regardless of make and model. Dont beleive th hype, ALL rechargables, be they Li-ion or NiMh have charge and retention issues if mismanaged...

SO the point is to not only PREPARE your battery, but also maintain it accordingly... usually regular charges and discharges...
This goes for camera batteries, phone batteries, gimbal and monitor batteries... anything that recharges...
YOull hear the term "no memory effect' on some batteries (paricularly generic camera batteries..) but this is actually in reference to their chips that these batteries use , not the actual chemical composition of the battery... your chip can read correctly and have no effect, but if your chems are all screwy...
You gta reset that...
Some chargers have a 'discharge or 'refresh' function.. theyre there for a reason.. adly we dont have that in laptops, which is a surprise, so we gta do it manually...

a a side note, think its funny how 'youtube reviewers" do all these battery tests on their old gear versus a brand new machine they jut got, but dont even do this very basic process.. 'but my old machine is better with battery life' ...errr.. no ...
SO dont believe everything you see on Youtube... lolll

1st, if you read the post, asus replace the battery on gieffe22's laptop and he have still the same issue, how can be possible all these you said, in a brand new battery? i can accept that the battery need attention and care and all these kind of things, but why happening in a brand new battery?

2nd, when you say full charge i can get it, but when you say full discharge, you mean run the laptop until it shuts by itself by no battery? isnt this harmfull for windows or the device in general? violent shut down?

3rd, can you provide a procedure or a video or an article step by step how we can do that?

man i'm a tech entushiasth, i had several laptop in my life until now and NEVER had a battery problem. My latest hp had 5 years and battery was at 70% of original performance without such problems like this on a new machine. I had another asus 3 years ago and never had any problems. I had a gl703vm last year (i selled to buy my actual 704gw) and never had any singol problem with battery. Mu smartphone /a galaxy s7 edge) have 4 years, and i have 80% battery health, without any problem. I know how to use and mantein in good health a battery.

And here the battery works perfectly except in those login after boot situation, what's your problem to understand that asus replaced my battery without solve ANYTHING? You think that an old battery and now a new one (that made problem after i put laptop out of shipment box) have both problems? Come on man...
