Asus Rog Strix Scar II GL504GM - Battery to zero 0%

Hello,

I have Asus Rog Strix Scar II GL504GM, the issue im running into is about the battery. When my battery is below 50% (more or less) and the laptop is off, when i power it on, and it is NOT with charger on, it starts normally and when i see the log in screen, i see the battery on the down right corner on the percentage that it was before i shut it down, and sudenly goes to 0 and shuts down. And when i power it on again (with charger this time), it is 0%.

It is not draining when i shut it off, because this can be happen also if it is 50%, i shut it, and turn it on again after 15 minuts for example, so it is not drainage, also i see the percentage of the battery i had before i shuted, at least for 1 sec, so for a weird reason it remembers the % but then it goes to 0 and shuts it imediately. If it passes this second, and it not turned off, then its is ok, so sometimes it turns off, sometimes it waits for me to login as a normal boot procedure.

I have All latest windows updates, i have latest bios update 310, i am really really carefull with the laptop, not stress it, not force it, etc. I tried the tips i read on internet about fast boot, from computer or from bios or both, unistalled the Intel rapid storrage also that i read is not helping for that, also "delete" the battery from device manager so it installs its drivers again when it boots, still didnt help. The laptop is about 8 months new with extreme careful useage, and good battery charging.

Except this, the battery working fine, and this is happening once every 2-3 boots, sometimes on every boot, this is never happend when my battery was 100% charged on the last shutdown. I dont know i feel it is software issue not hardware/battery issue because it happens only sometimes not always. So guys did anyone had this issue before? can you suggest something to try? Thank tou in advance.

The problem for 1 month was solved or maybe i didn't see it (i don't know how) but today i start the notebook and 0%, it was with 30 %.

me too from service the says the mother board was been replaced.

I dont know what we can do... i dont wont to send it another time....

HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP

ps. i dont know why with the same use, some times from 100% the battery life is 4/5 hour and more time is 1/2 hour, same use, just navigation or youtube video ...

pps. is possible the problem are the driver of the intel grafic 630 ? because the driver are more than 1 year old and we cant update because are direct from asus, if i try to update from intel assistant it say, the driver are a version from asus, try on the web site asus for update, if it try to dowload the file from intel page, i cant insalling i recive an error message.

on the page of asus the last drive for the intel grafic si 2019/03.

Hi Sergio, no, it's not a driver problem, I tried all the new drivers on the intel and nvidia site and it did the same. Even with windows without any driver, the problem appeared. My laptop is still in service. Probably the replaced motherboard is from the same batch with problems as the original one, my advice is to send it back to the service center! I see that the other colleagues have no news ...

Hello Everybody
Could this be a Windows 10 issue??
Has anyone tried with another version of windows?
Is anyone still following this thread!?

Come on ASUS!!!

Hi mIKE_Aleph, I personally tried with older versions and the problem persists ... I don't know what the problem is, to find out ASUS what the problem is we have to send the laptops to the service. What worries me is that for example Sergio's motherboard and battery have changed and the problem has reappeared. The other colleagues probably don't watch the forum every day ... I watch it every day.

Thanks for the information...
I'll keep searching for other options too.

Thank you for keep working on this issue.
I still believe it's a software problem.

Well be expecting news.

Thank you Blake. I am still waiting on dissecting the laptop myself because the warranty is still valid.

I'll wait for new updates.

Thanks for the update Blake.

I previously had the GL504GM and started facing this issue within 6 months and thought that I might have done something wrong because replacing the battery didn't help.

Then I purchased the GL504GW (hella expensive in India), but again faced the same issue after 6-7 months. I never kept my charger plugged in and use the Asus Battery health feature to limit full charge to 60%.

Hoping to find why this actually happens in the first place.

Hi, I received the laptop from the service (the second time, the first time the motherboard was replaced) and the battery was replaced. For now, the problem does not appear. I hope it's resolved. I will continue to follow the forum and I will keep you updated on the evolution.
