Hello everyone and merry Christmas!
I've bought an LG Ultragear and i was hoping to connect it as a second monitor to my Asus Rog Strix Scar G733PZ. However the monitor came with a Display Port to Display port cable, while my laptop only has an HDMI port and two USB type C ports. I tried to connect the monitor to my laptop with an HDMI to HDMI cable and the monitor is now working but it is limited to 144htz (monitor supports 180htz overclocked to 200) and i noticed in NVIDIA Control Panel that only the Optimus choice is available to me (i mostly use my laptop with the dedicated graphics option). Then i figured that my Type C ports are actually Display ports that are connected directly to the NVIDIA Card. Do i need to buy an adapter TypeC/DP that makes me use the cable that came with the Monitor in order to correctly use the external screen? And with correctly i mean that my external screen would use his 180htz in full and my Nvidia card instead of the Optimus option.
Thanks for your answers and sorry for the long post!
