Hello,
I will buy an Asus Scar 18 2024 (G834JYR-XS97), so I have a few questions regarding compatibility for RAM and SSD upgrades, as well as the latest BIOS update for this model, because I will upgrade the laptop as soon as I get my hands on it:
RAM upgrade:
x1 Kit of Kingston FURY Impact 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MT/s DDR5, Product Number: KF556S40IBK2-64
SSD upgrade:
x1 Samsung 990 Pro SSD 2TB PCIe 4.0 (main SSD for OS), product number: MZ-V9P2T0B/AM
x1 Samsung 990 Pro SSD 4TB PCIe 4.0 (secondary SSD for storage), product number: MZ-V9P4T0B/AM
BIOS update:
Version 316 (marked as critical), the latest one from 2024/06/07 on the support page for this model.
So my main questions for hardware upgrades are:
1. Are these hardware products fully compatible to this model from stock?
2. Can I install different sized SSDs for this model? (I understand that it does not come from the factory with RAID 0).
And about the BIOS 316:
3. Why is it marked as critical and what type of benefits/updates does it offer? I've read from past comments and also from my own experience (an Asus G731GW), that sometimes BIOS updates block some options and you may end up losing some capabilities or performance (for "security reasons", according to the manufacturer). I just want to clarify that this version is not an actual downgrade by any mean and really it is just a performance/stability upgrade.
Thanks in advance for your comments,
Cheers.

I'd also like to know this. I have a Scar 18 with RAID 0, but I'd like to upgrade its SSD. Will that impact anything?
