Got this laptop last June 15 and I noticed that when using Ultimate in GPU mode in the Armoury Crate, games are stuttering really hard to the point that it's unplayable. They're also have lower FPS when the stuttering isn't happening. One of the things I noticed it that the GPU usage fluctuates between 50-99%.
The stuttering disappears once I use Standar in GPU mode which allows me to enable advanced optimus in the nvidia control panel, but that mode is busted too because I can't control the brightness level, the screen's brightness overly bright and it hurst my eye, and my display settings are detecting 2 monitors. So I'm avoiding that mode for now too.
Games which I've obeserved the stuttering:
I've yet to test other GPU intensive games, but so far the stuttering isn't present in games like DoTA2, Valorant or other non GPU intensive titles. I've tried using the recommended Nvidia drivers from the device's support page and clean installed my GPU drivers using DDU. I also tried fresh reinstalling windows but still nothing. I don't wanna update my BIOS though cause there seems to be an issue with ASUS laptops in updating the BIOS.
Solved! Go to Solution.

You can read the beta driver notes here: https://developer.nvidia.com/vulkan-driver
I've not tried turning off rebar. I've never used nvidia profile inspector. Maybe I'll give that a shot.
For now, playing in standard mode.

Thanks, the release notes doesn't mention anything related to stuttering
Really strange
P. S
Yeah give it a shot, use any nvidia driver you want, just don't use the Beta driver that fixes the stutter issue
Use any driver and then go to nvidia profile inspector and select the game you want and turn off rebar
See if turning off Rebar fixed the issue from you and share feedback

Disabling rBAR using NVIDIA Profile Inspector resolved the issue for me.
Does that mean this is an NVIDIA driver issue or a Cyberpunk issue? Seems like the latter.

New driver resolved this for my 2023 M16 4080

Hi all. Latest driver brought back the stuttering issue for me, I have just used profile inspector and turned off re bar on Starfield and the problem has gone away. What a pain this is with these drivers at the moment, never had an issue in years.

new driver out, 545.84, and next week new driver for alan wake 2
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/212898/en-us/
I bet the stutter issue is still there, im going to test it in a few hours
People need to report this issue to nvidia or this will never be fixed

Everytime a new driver is out, they open new discussion threads everywhere, if the problem persist, then ALL people should go to those threads and report the issue everytime a new driver is out
What is strange is that some users with 4080, are reporting no stutter, 2 users to be more precise
SciGhost and Kezmark from the "bios 319 degradation" thread, the only 2 users reporting no stutter in ultimate mode - strangely

1 Whats your laptop model?
2 Are you using 4800 or 5600 ram?
3 Are you using windows 10 or 11?
4 Do you use armour crate or g helper?
5 How did you discovered these drivers and where did he read that this driver is meant to fix the stutter?
I dont see anywhere saying that vulkan beta driver is for stutter fix

G634JZ, 13980hx/4080. 4800 ram that came with it , windows 11. Armoury crate. This issue driving me insane. Soon as I disable re bar with profile inspector it fixes it.
Someone on reddit posted link to this beta driver. Installed it and it actually made games run as normal in ultimate mode and re bar on, but every new driver seems to break it.

Thanks for the answer, can you share the reddit post ?
P.S
eighteesix confirmed big performance drop with that vulkan beta driver
you dont notice no performance decrease with that driver?
Also did you check if rebar is ON with that beta driver?
Maybe that beta driver, all it does, is turning off rebar for all games - hence why is working 100%
You need to make sure rebar is ON on nvidia profile inspector and use GPU-Z to confirm REBAR is on in the GPU
Double check - gpu-z and nvidia profile inspector
P.S 2
Nvidia needs to confirm if this is a driver issue or is a asus issue...
According to many reports, this is happening since june it seems
P.S 3
The nvidia drivers doesnt break anything, they simply lack the "fix" - nvidia didnt do anything to fix this yet
Everytime you install a new driver, it resets the nvidia profile "fix" - completely normal thing
Everytime you instal a new driver, the profiles are reset and added new ones , etc
So, if nvidia or asus dont fix this, we will need to use nvdia profile inspector forever
And with rebar disabled = less performance ...
If this doesnt get fixed in a few weeks/months, im returning this laptop and will never buy ASUS ever again!
I just tested my LEGION 7 3080 , and everything works fine with the lastest driver - REBAR ON, CP 2077
So it smells , this only affect some models, maybe its only 4000 series laptop, not affecting 3000 series maybe?

For what it's worth, the beta driver I was using completely tanked my 3DMark score. GPU score went from 17.5K down to 13K.
