Hello everyone,
I am experiencing recurring issues with my ASUS ROG G814JVR laptop, and I am hoping to get some insights or advice from the community.
Specifications:
- Processor: Intel i9-14900HX
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060
- RAM: 32GB DDR5
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (latest version)
- Drivers: All updated (from MyASUS, NVIDIA, and Intel websites)
- BIOS: Latest version installed
The Issue:
I frequently encounter BSOD with the error VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE when running on battery.
The laptop functions perfectly in most scenarios (e.g., gaming, productivity, etc.), but these errors are persistent and concerning.
I have noticed that the issue appears more frequently after Windows 11 updates (especially major version updates).
Steps I Have Taken:
Reinstalled Windows 11 Pro:
- Performed a clean installation (both personally and via ASUS specialized service).
Updated All Drivers and Firmware:
- NVIDIA GPU drivers (latest Game Ready drivers).
- Intel and ASUS drivers for iGPU, chipset, and others.
- BIOS updated to the latest version from the ASUS support website.
Sent to ASUS Service:
- The service tested the hardware and found no issues.
- The problem persisted after service, especially following Windows updates.
Checked Event Viewer:
- Found errors related to TDR resets and GPU communication issues, though these are inconsistent.
Questions:
- Has anyone else encountered similar issues on this or a similar model?
- Could this be related to Windows 11's power management or driver incompatibilities?
- Any suggestions for additional troubleshooting steps or permanent fixes?
I appreciate any help or advice you can provide! Let me know if more details are needed.
Thank you in advance!
