Asus ROG Strix G18 (2023) G814JV bios downgrade error

How can I now rollback the BIOS to version 313? After updating MyASUS to 331 I tried using EzFlash to rollback to any other than 331 (313-330) I see an error

Selected file is not a proper BIOS
Before the update, I could downgrade the BIOS to any version from the Asus website without any problems.

The problem is not in the flash drive, because 331 is flashed back to 331. also tried to downgrade via WinFlash /nodate but after rebooting EzFlash and again Selected file is not a proper BIOS

Factory Windows Home 22H2 v2.05 with ISST 2022 drivers sounds great quality only 313 bios version. By the way, this was the most stable bios, new 331 for 85-90 degrees celsius with undervolting. 313 temperatures 70-80 degrees celsius with undervolting.

I guess BIOS version 313 uses more voltage for HD Audio. Even when loading boot ROG logo sounds more detailed and nicer than 317-331 bios. And in combination with ISST 2022 + Realtek 2022 the sound is transformed into premium quality, all other BIOS make muffled sounds, high frequency detail is lost. If the problem is the new 12B microcode, should I expect a re-upload of 313 along with the 12B added to it, or have all previous BIOS versions turned into a pumpkin forever?

Thanks.

313 open notepad 6 line
1 /ECBIOSReserve 1 ;FV_ECBIOS_Reserve
331 open notepad 6 line
1 /PDBIN2 1 ;FV_PDBIN2

New bios file structure, for some purposes it was modified. I really hope for recovery, I wouldn't want to buy a laptop from another brand.

If during these 2 years of operation my laptop did not break down with the old 313 BIOS, therefore I do not need the 12B microcode, without it the laptop worked stably, why do I need 331 BIOS?

BIOS Downgrade blocked 313 - Selected file is not a proper BIOS 317 - Selected file is not a proper BIOS 318 - Selected file is not a proper BIOS

Yeah. It's frustrating. The website should have posted a clear warning.

Bios 318 has been stable as rock for me. I only run into issues when updating to newer Bios releases. I figured the micocode would be worth it and maybe solve my update issues... 331 started out okay, and the new micocode reduced my overall temps a lot. But then my laptop froze while playing a Youtube. It's crazy, because my laptop has never blue screened in the typical sense. It always freezes, while staying on. It will make a buzzing sound if a video was playing. But no actual BSOD with an accompanying code, no crash dumps.  It would be easy to blame this on bad GPU drivers. But I keep those updated. I've ran DDU, reinstalled Windows etc... 318 has been my rock and I need to be able to revert to that. I hope Asus releases a fix soon. I'm looking forward to CES and the 5090 laptops. I would like to stick to Asus. However, the 2023 Scar 16 has been such a headache.

Why does everyone her like older bios versions though What’s the difference between the old and new ones?

For example, the factory image of Asus 22H2 Home v2.05 was configured on older BIOS versions, it is very stable.

New experimental BIOS versions are usually unstable. Yes, modern bios can increase FPS in new games and in return cause 5 bsods per day in other places. I'm not a gamer, I don't need to chase FPS, it's easier to buy a PC for this. I use a laptop for work and multimedia, so is it worth giving up stability and predictable temperatures for the sake of FPS?

The main task of the new BIOS is compatibility with new drivers and Windows; As soon as the warranty ends, the laptop is artificially damaged, and you run to buy a new one. My plans do not include replacing a laptop every 1-2 years. By my standards, a laptop should last at least 4-5 years.

Stability.... See the irony?

Zalevskiy, already explained it. But support for new features, drivers and such.

A BIOS update can also should fix lingering issues. But in the wrong hands can introduce more problems'; often times debilitating issues far greater than the reason you decided to update in the first place🙄 But general rule of thumb is don't update unless something is broken. I had zero reason to update outside of the micro code; which did help drop my temperatures and improve my R23 scores. But, cost me s stable system.

I'm curious what, if any, BIOS level undervolt everyone is using with 331. I have found -20 to -40 to freeze less often. While -80 freezes the laptop after a few hours or a few minutes into a gaming session.

I don't use BIOS UV

I am use ThrottleStop
-125
-40
-125
-40
+ ghelper power limits 45-80W

After an hour, the nvidia settings taskbar may disappear, it helps to replace 125 > 115-120 and a stable old BIOS. on this forum I came across such settings as -170, because of them, my laptop froze, apparently, each processor has its own.
