Specs are as such : AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 2,9GHz, NVIDIA 3060, 512Gb, Windows 11
(Bear in mind, I'm new to laptops and a lot of jargon I do not know yet, sorry '^^ )Basically, I could be using the laptop for anything (playing, watching a video, drawing, etc etc) and the laptop will suddenly experience what can only be described as a one/two second slow down ? The audio, and the framerate will experience some sort of a lag, and completely slow down and become jerky before immediately going back to normal.
This wouldn't be a problem for me, if these randoms framedrops didn't consistently disconnect my mic (using a Rode NT USB Mini with Rode Connect) from its software. It's currently a pretty big and really annoying problem.
I've tried installing GHelper and lowering the treshold for my GPU/CPU (CPU boost set as disabled, core clock limit set at 2600Mhz), as someone suggested to me it might be caused by a CPU overload, it did nothing. I changed the battery PCI settings, did nothing. Updated everything in MyAsus, as well as the nvidia driver just in case, nothing. Put the laptops' LED in static before completing disabling them and lightingservice, nothing.
At this point I just don't know what to do. My temps never go above 83° during big gaming sessions, and it usually sits at a reasonable 50-60° (drawing, watching videos), but the drops will happen nonetheless. Here's everything connected to my laptop on the daily just in case :
- A Wacom Cintiq 16 Pro, Usb c to c
- My mic, Rode NT USB Mini, usb a to c
- My mouse, a logitech wireless, usb-a
Anyone has a fix/solution ? I'm jut completely lost, I just want my mic/Rode Connect to stop disconnecting.

I have a brand new i9 4080 g18... Same issue.
At random times the audio will stutter along with frames. I've also had random black screens. This all resolves but really shouldn't be happening. I actually bought an Acer i9 4070 from Costco at same time. Doing the same activities on both laptops the Acer has no issue whatsoever. But really not a fan of their "predator" and coPilot keys. i don't want that trash so hoping to resolve this g18 issue before return window ends.

Hi,
Try downloading the VGA driver from Nvidia.
Open the Nvidia Driver that you downloaded and let it extract the files and folders.
Accept the licence agreement Select "CUSTOM".
Install what you need .
Make sure "Clean installation" is checked.
Check then reply.

Hi,
Let's start with checking the mic, in the Control panel find the Sound, click on it then go to the record tab and turn off every mic except your Rode (right click turn off) then check if it continues to cause the problem.

I would first check Latencymon to see what flags with excessive DCP latency.
