hi I have a problem when I connect my external hdd WD my passport 2tb usb 3.0 to the usb ports on the asus rog strix g16 every time I move a file or watch a video of any size the hdd disconnects and connects repeatedly, but if I connect the hdd to a usb hub it works fine, I installed all the drivers and in device manager I disabled energy saving at every usb but nothing has changed, does anyone have the same problem as me?

Hello,
I'm only using an external nvme drive in the USB C port, no issues with that.
What is the drive, SSD or HDD and the cable you are using, original or replacement / length?
I've only had similar issues (exactly the same) with my external HDD on a my desktop PC, the USB 3.0 cable I used was not able to supply enough power. Maybe Try a USB A to C cable instead if not already on that.

this it Western Digital 2TB My Passport with original usb 3.0 cable, strangely as I wrote in the first post, if I connect it with a Chinese hub (I think it is usb 2.0) with a usb-a to usb-c adapter to the usb-c port of the notebook I have no problem, but if I connect the external hdd directly to one of the 2 usb 3.2 ports of the rog strix there is the problem of disconnection and connection
