Hello, I aim to buy a new gaming laptop in a about 1700 euro budget. I was about to get a legion 5 pro (ryzen 7, rtx 3070) for that price but they rejected my debit card and I'm still avaiting my credit card to arrive, but sadly the deal has ended.
My second option here is the laptop mentioned in the title, asus rog strix g15 with ryzen 9 and an Rx6800m. On paper an absolute beast for the budget. It was actually my first option before, but I got a little worried about the screen, the 1080p one. Don't care about 300hz, but I've heard its rather dim, right? Barely 300 nits. But what about the QHD one? How does it compare to the 1080p one brightness and quality wise? I've only found one mention that it goes up to 320nits, which I think would be sufficient for me. Any owners with the QHD version wanna speak up? Perhaps show some pics? Now I plan to hook it up to my 65 inch OLED anyway (btw can hdmi 2.0b output 4k 120hz ? or the usb c output ?), but I will obviously using the laptop screen itself most of the time anyway. but aside from that, are the panels much different in how they display colours , contrast etc ?
While we're at it, what other potential issues should I be aware of? I know the ram issue, but can the drivers issues be really that bad as to render the laptop inoperable? the liquid metal stuff ?
Thanks for your answers. I welcome your other laptop suggestion as well.
