ASUS ROG Stric SCAR 17 G733 (2023) BIOS Downgrade troubles and massive throttle problems

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to downgrade the BIOS from 329 back to 316. 

Any time I try, EZ Flash 3 tells me that it's not a valid BIOS file. I also tried Winflash. I tried modifying the driver in device manager via the firmware. I redownloaded the BIOS file numerous times, but only the latest 329 file works for updating 😞

The reason I want to revert to Bios 316, is that back then I had no throttle issues. Currently, my CPU will often throttle down to 1.5Ghz or even less.

It seems to be impossible to roll back to an older BIOS version...

EZ Flash 3 always tells me "Selected file is not a proper bios".

Only with the latest 329 Bios it completes the update. There seems to really be no way to rollback...

I hawe same setup like u i dont think it is bios related.

I updated to 329 and it works like charm,oposite to your problems mine temps and fan speed are lower.Cherrs

Yeah, i'm not sure what it is.

I have extreme throttle issues. 

If I only stress the GPU (Furmark), all is ok. GPU downclocks slightly to 1.7-1.8Ghz from 2Ghz Boost clock.

But if I then put stress on the CPU at the same time (Prime95), the CPU downclocks to 0.5Ghz/500mhz.

Same happens in demanding video games. (Video games stress both CPU and GPU).

This is really unsustainable.

I can confirm It's not a bios issue , 

I was having the same issue with my cpu temp always throttle .

I manage to fixed it by repaste the cpu and this is a must to do , I got 20 degrees less temps and more wattage to my cpu now .

You will not only getting low temps you also will have more wattage to the cpu also your laptop will be more quite .

my laptop is scar 17 rtx 4090 ryzen 9
