ASUS GL702VM(K), wtaht's the thermal pad's thickness?

Hello,

I'm in need for urgent help. I've already "unsuccessfully" contacted & emailed ASUS support for the 3rd time about this issue but it seems that I'm talking to an awful Chat Bot, "Check the Documention", "That will void your warranty", "Etc!"...

Anyway, I've had to open my laptop to swap some components and re paste both the GPU and the CPU. The thing is that there are no thermal pads under the heatsink. It's just a disgusting blue thermal liquid'ish... thing.
And now I'm trying to figure out what are the necessary thicknesses in terms of thermal pads.

Thanks.

Mount the heatsink on its place without thermal paste and measure the gap between the heatsink and vrm's/ram chips. Buy a thermal pad that is a tad thicker than the gap you measured.

Sorry, may I (honestly and not meaning to offend) ask you how can I accomplish that?
The vrm's & chips & voltage regulators are "under" heatsink, closer to the inside part, I can't measure the gap with a ruler beacuse I can't see the chips under it.

Well, in most cases you can see the chips, vrms or whatever from the sides, so you can get an idea from there. Doesn't have to be the exact thickness, as long as it's not too thin or too thick, you're good to go.

If you can't, just use something like playdough, a very small amount so you don't make a mess, and take a rough measurement. Put a small amount on the spot you want to measure, replace the heatsink (no need to tighten the screws, just apply pressure) then remove it carefully.
