Asus GL504GM SD Card Reader "This device cannot start"

Hi,

My GL504GM isn't recognizing SD cards (I tried multiple cards). I can access them through other devices, but you don't drop almost 2k€ on a laptop and be fine when stuff doesn't work, right?).



I've disabled and uninstalled the device, but no change.
Also tried to install any drivers from Asus, but it's not clear which one is related to the card reader.
BIOS is 311, but I haven't found an option there related to the card reader.

Suggestions?

Hello. I got the same problem with my GL504GM. Is sending device to service center the only option? I've sent my laptop 2 months ago because of faulty cooling fan (replaced) and battery (service didn't see any problems and now battery still suddenly drops from 35% to 0%) and now this.... I'm so frustrated with this device 😞

Well then....was there any update or modification before the SD card issue occurred?
Which BIOS version are you using now?
