in bios via easy flash

Going through the BIOS is the least point of resistance, your updating the BIOS from the BIOS, rather than allowing Windows to set it up and execute it. Less chance of an error occurring.

We have seen several bricked NB using winflash, I don't think we have seen many or any using easyflash.

Can updating BIOS improve performance in any way or is just about solving problems ?
Foe example if I update from 210 to 223 what difference will make ?
THE ASUS WEBSITE IS SO LESS INFORMATIVE IN CHANGE LOGS !

Yea is anyone finds a good reason to update to this BIOS let us know, I'll stay with 210 until I see a real good reason to update?

Wrong Wrong and Wrong. You do not unzip the file and then copy it in windows. That is the easiest way to brick the system. Windows copy can add METADATA to the ends of files. This corupts the rom image. In the old days any decent Flash program did a CRC checksum calculation on the image before it flashed it. If it didn't match it didn't flash it. These new programs like win flash aren't doing this. if you Corrupt the image you corupt the flash.

Always directly UNZIP to image to directly where it going to be used from. Never move or copy it as a BIN or ROM win windows. If you need to move or copy a bin or ROM. ZIP or RAR it the UNZIP or UNRAR it from place to place. That way you do not add metadata to the image.

Yeah, if you don't have a good reason to update the bios, it's probably better not to take the chance especially if the notebook is out of warranty.

Instead of saving to a USB flash drive though, I normally just download, save, and unzip the bios to the hard drive (D: partition if available) and run Easy Flash from the bios since you can still browse your hard drive for bios files.

Easy Flash doesn't let you downgrade the bios though from what I've seen, so you probably need to use Winflash with the '/nodate' parameter to downgrade the bios.
