Another Briked G75

I know there's a lot of post about bricked notebooks who update their BIOS. I'm here just to ask some questions and cry a little. First, my note is stucked in the black screen, but the backlight of keyboard is responsive to Ctrl+Home function, the lights indicators works, so i don't know if this is a full brick.

To the questions. First, the Ctrl+Home+Power combination resets the BIOS defaults or just enter in EZFlash ?
Second, is there any internal batery in G75 ? I opened the HD section and couldn't find anything.
Last, holding the power button ,after removing the battery, clear the CMOS ?

Now the "cry" section. Really, i'm almost giving up to this. I brought the note outside my country (Brazil), and choosed ASUS to not have a headache with problems because i trusted the brand. But now, after less than a month this happens.
If this is a problem with notebooks who were updated with WinFlash (like me), and after so many problems with this, why the WinFlash is still in the downloads sections ?

I'm now waiting for a response of ASUS support center to see if there's any assistence in my country (i don't think so).

Anybody knows where can I find a full BIOS file (8MB) to the G75VW version?

Your download link returns a 'file not found' error suggesting the file had been taken down. I seem to have bricked my G75VW's BIOS (supposedly by resetting the BIOS to optimal settings) and am looking for options on how to get it up and running again. However, I don't own a chip programmer so I'm unsure on how to complete such a task.
I've read through the entire thread and have tried the CTRL+HOME button method numerous times. My G75VW does indeed respond to the key combination by dimly lighting up the HDD LED, but it then restarts and does nothing at all (indicated by the audible DVD/blu-ray drive and the backlit keyboard switching off and lighting up). I've managed to recover my G75.BIN file from my drive through the use of recovery software on another system and have copied it to an empty drive and a USB stub (both formatted to FAT-32).

hi, i'm having the same problem now, could you upload that .bin file? I downloaded from asus oficial page and nothing happend... i already do the ctrl + home combo (puting the downloaded .207.bin archive of 6mb) and with the ssd ligts of power, keyboard, disk and the others keep on about 2 o 3 mins then the notebook reboot and nothing happened. then I tryed with a hdd with the same .bin and nothting happened. today i tryed with 210.bin file and with ssd the same with lastest trys but whit the hdd do the same but keyboard lights keep on and notebook don't reboot like with the others disks o .bin files ( first 207, then 210 bios)... I'm waiting for de new bios ordered by ebay, but id like to try not to re solder bios, hope it ctrl+home combo get this problem solved with 8mb bios file... when new chip arrives i try to upload that archive here...

Hi Renzo88, I ended up ordering a new G75VW BIOS chip from Biosdepot on Ebay and soldering it onto my motherboard (after some practice with an old laptop mobo). Unfortunately, the BIOS file I recovered has a size of 6MB and is only as good as the ones available from Asus's website so I'm afraid I can't help you there. 😕

Does anyone on here still have this file? I attempted to flash a file found on a chinese forum and I now get into the BIOS but dont see HDD/SDD/USB drives, only DVD.
I would like to attempt to flash this one from Guido7142. Also if anyone has any suggestions if there is a way to install the BIOS from a DVD I'm curious to try that.

After searching the net, I found this full dump (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104031378/G75VW.rom) on another forum (http://www.overclock.net/t/1493245/how-to-unlock-the-system-bios-on-an-asus-g75vx-nvidia-gtx-670mx-c...). As of yet I haven't been able to get EZ-Flash or WinFlash to flash my chip with this, but seeing as I had this problem before I thought I would make a contribution given that I could not acquire the full 8MB BIOS. In the end, I bought a replacement BIOS chip from BiosDepot on Ebay. Although my G75VW was alive again after soldering it in, my keyboard backlight has ceased to function (probably due to some missing code in the new BIOS chip) and have been trying to find ways to bring that back ever since. If anyone knows how to get EZ-Flash to see the ROM file or WinFlash to accept the file, shoot me a message as I'd like to see my keyboard in the dark again. Just to point out - I cannot use an EEPROM programmer as I run the risk of damaging the PCB traces. USE THIS FILE AT YOUR OWN RISK AS I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE IT. 🙂 Enjoy
