Hi,
Just got a second hand stryx ROG gl702vmk and the adapter AC DC just stop working if i unplug it after some time charging, then replug it...
It re-works if i unplug/replug the power outlet after that (only thing that make it re-works) . So strange...
I was wondering if this is a known common failure on asus ACDC of these series ? Or maybe these are weak or something, are they ?
Do you know if it worth trying to fix it ? Or at least if there are better alternatives that have same characteristics but more resilient ?
Or i'm maybe just unlucky ^^' and can just buy another second handled one ?
Thx for your advices 😉
Infos :
AC/DC adapter : ADP-180MB F (180w 19.5v)
I've another ACDC : 120w 19.5v (Chicony) and laptop works fine with it, it charges itself after unplug/replugging adapter. But it has not enough power unfortunately for gaming usage.
My specs :
ASUS stryx ROG gl702vmk
GTX 1060 - i7 7700HQ - 16gb ram
NVME 3.0 500gb + SSD 500gb
Win 10 x64

1) If you have or know someone with a wattage meter (test it).
2) Try another brick from somewhere.
Else RMA it.
When it shuts down is the brick Hot? That is a sign of tripping.
But does NOT tell you if it is the brick or the laptop. Creating the high draw.
