2021 g15 bottom led help

Hi everyone, I picked up a 2021 strix g15 g513 laptop for a really great deal. After cleaning it inside and out, factory restoring it, and installing all of the drivers and software, I noticed the bottom led bar doesn't light up. Keyboard lights up fine.

All drivers up to date through Myasus, and memory crate, and windows updates. I tried uninstalling all of the asus software and drivers and installed g-helper. Same issue.

I opened the laptop and swapped both ribbon cables going from the motherboard to each led board. Still not lighting up.

Any ideas?? What are the chances both led boards are dead? Am I missing anything else software or hardware side?

Thankd

Hello,

Unless there is some software glitch it must be hardware, do the EC reset and see if it makes any difference. (not sure if it applies but when turning on does it glow red?)

Thanks for the reply. I tried the EC reset but to no avail. When the laptop first boots, the lightbar does not glow red. The only thing I can think of at this point is the LED controllers on each corner of the bottom cover but they're hard to find and priced around $50 each one, after shipping.

Are they available on Ali-express? (or maybe that is the pricing from them)

Yeah, that's the pricing for ali express and another Ukraine website lol. Just seems odd that both control boards would die? I don't know wtf the previous owners did to this thing.

That's a little expensive, and the actual aRGB LEDs are you able to test those?

In the armourycrate software it is possible to turn the bar on / off, did you try this?

That one will control the light bar.

Thanks for the reply. "Laptop light zones" doesn't appear for me in the armory crage software. Only the keyboard. Probably because its not detecting the led boards.

I found an led board online for about 15 dollars so I ordered it just to see if that is the issue. If it lights up, then I'll try and find the other side and replace that one as well. If this new one doesn't light up, then I guess motherboard? So strange.

Yeah that's strange, hopefully the replacement part will change this.

Turns out that's what it was. I swapped one of the led control boards and it worked fine after that. Thanks for the responses.
