Due to the recent revelation that practically all 13th and 14th gen cpus capable of pushing more than 65w might be defective, I’m wondering if mobile cpu’s are included, and I’m kind of confused as to whether or not they are based on my experience and recent info.
My story: I've returned this laptop to BestBuy on three separate occasions and have had the g814jz from multiple batches. All three have had identical cpu thermal issues along with stability issues in the form of microstutter in practically every game, and two of them blue screened out of the box. Sensor data on every one I’ve had looks about the same or worse than what’s shown in GizmoSlipTechs video at the 24:29 time stamp: Asus Strix G18 - Unbox, Undervolt, Benchmarks, Gameplay, Display Test, Remove Bottom, And More (yout.... You can see that multiple cores are throttling along with the Packet/Ring which is the important one to pay attention to as ring voltage is the primary driver in how these cpu’s are degrading. The three I tested may have actually been a bit worse with more cores throttling and more frequently. It doesn’t matter if the computer is in performance mode and simply loading a 60fps low res unity game, it throttles like this under basically any load/setting.
My temps loading mw3:
Clearly there's been an issue with these laptops for a while, it’s practically all of them, and if it’s due to cpu degradation it’s starting to look like it wont be acknowledged...
Intel has stated that these instability issues do not extend to mobile CPUs: https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/intel-instability-extends-to-laptops/
but can we even trust that since they already falsely stated it was only high end SKUs?
This article also states they’re not included, but goes on to mention a game dev who experienced the exact same failures as their desktops: https://www.techradar.com/computing/cpu/worried-your-intel-laptop-cpu-might-suffer-from-instability-...
So who’s right? The game devs who were basically the only people who have been right this whole time, or intel? From my experience seeing multiple versions of this laptop with identical performance and thermal issues, I’m leaning towards the game devs being right about this one.
I’m posting this hopefully to shed some light on the issue, because it feels like it’s getting brushed under the rug.. so please post your own experiences below of you’ve had similar issues.

I hope more people join in on this important issue.

Hello, thank you for starting this question that no one talks about, Intel 13th generation mobile processors possibly have the same problems, I think that everyone who has Asus Rog Strix G16/G18 computers should join in to investigate this very serious problem, I I have an asus rog strix g16 with intel core i9 13980HX, the first days I already had peaks of 102° playing, I had to perform undervolt and it does not exceed 90°, at the moment I have not had crashes, but we need to know if these devices are affected by the Intel problem, I have the latest bios from 321 to 328 marked as critical, Asus does not specify what it corrects, they should do it, now I have bios 329, slight increase in temperatures, about 8° more Comparing bios 328, will bios 330 come out with something added from the new Intel microcode?

Hello
Is it important yo update bios? I am still using v325 ,i also did undervolt for controlling temperature..as after updating bios did u see any differences CPU temperatures?

Hello, totally, bios 328 is critical, you must update it, now there is 329, which yes, it increased slightly at least on my computer a few more degrees.

Sorry, I'm referring to Asus rog strix g16 devices and I think g18 as well.

Thanks for replying, I hope more people join in too. After doing some more digging around I feel like the issue is and has always been the thermal velocity boost algorithms. My laptop is hitting 1.55v at 5.6ghz in even the most minor of loads on the cpu(things as simple as opening armoury crate). Those numbers are absolutely insane for a laptop. Frame chasers explains it pretty well in his more recent video: https://youtu.be/pmpYyGWNd6w?si=c7Bn0mqzMApBs69C
I’m not really sure how valid that info is, but if he’s right then we’re all screwed…
