So, there is an entire fuss on the internet about the fail to update issue wiht this model. I have tried to find out if there is a solution. In my case, I tried to install it usint good cables, the HDMI was the one provided with the monitor, and different USB ports.
The monitor is detested, after a reset, the version are detected, the old one 101 and the new one 104, but the message, the final message, is FAIL. No progress bar appears in the process. I have started the updater in Admin mode, I even went to Task manager and assighend the admin mode from there. Even managed to set perma Admin mode.
Is there any solutions? Ussualy, I will not update it, but I hade an old 34 ultrawide monitor manufactured in 2017 a Samsung LC34F791WQ, that looks better than this one in almost all aspects than ASUS. Since I have identified that the panel for XG49WCR is simmilar - Samsung Quantum dot, there is strange why ASUS XG49WCR looks so bad. This is the main reason for me trying to update it.
Any help will be appreciated.

There is no fix, you should return it to the store and never buy asus products again.
