XG27UCG Firmware update problem

Hi,

Am trying to update my new XG27UCG firmware and it is a bit of a problem.

I have an RX 9070XT GPU which does not have a USB-C port. The monitor does not have a "regular" USB A-B port.

The firmware instructions tell me to plug in either a USB-C cable or a USB A-B cable.

Have tried plugging the USB-C cable into my PC USB-C's port (the one on the PC case..not on the GPU as it does not have one).

Have also tried with an HDMI cable and Display port cable plugged in at the same time..

When I click on the On click firmware update it says "monitor not found"..

Any advice on how to proceed please?

Problem solved... I forgot that I have a USB to USB-C cable that I use for an external drive adapter. I just plugged that in and it worked first go..firmware updated OK.

Thank you anyway for trying to help me..really appreciate it.

Hello anthonyI59

"monitor not found" could point to an issue with the usb-c connection or possibly the procedure.

Would your motherboard happen to have a usb-c port?

To confirm, after connecting your monitor with the usb-c cable:

1) Turn the monitor off then back on.

2) Perform an All Reset.

3) If using the KVM model, set this to KVM (USB-C).

4) Try the update.

Yes my motherboard does have a USB-C port.. do I simply plug that into the monitor and then try the update or do I need to do something with the monitors settings?

Ok,

Try connecting the usb-c cable to your motherboard and monitor.

After connecting the usb-c cable:

1) Turn the monitor off then back on. The power button is located just to the right of the OSD button, you might not feel it but it's there. Press it to turn the monitor off and back on again.

2) Perform an All Reset. Open the monitor OSD, Select System Setup, go down to All Reset, select yes.

3) If using the KVM model, select System Setup, USB Setup, KVM, tick the box "KVM (USB-C)".

4) Try the update.

I came across this thread with a similar issue. - ROG Strix XG27UCG firmware update - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1071289

Two people were able to update their monitors, one says updating the motherboard bios got theirs to update.
