XG27AQDMG Gradients issues / Banding / Posterization / Chrominance Overshoot

Hi!

There are severe issues with gradients on this monitor, particularly with gray / near black colors, but it actually happens on all colors. I'm attaching a few pictures for reference.

This happens regardless of the mode (SDR/HDR) and regardless of any setting in the monitor or driver, regardless of refresh rate or colour space, but some settings seem to make it worse (it's worse on higher gamma settings and worse on lower refresh rates for example).

There have already been a few posts on Reddit and on the forum. I understand this might be a typical problem for WOLED displays, but there are ways to mitigate this. For example, the "Smooth Gradient" option on an LG C4 set mitigates this. Other WOLED monitors, even ASUS ones, also don't seem to have this issue, or at least not as pronounced.

It is very distracting and I'm considering returning the monitor. It's one thing for it to happen in rare cases, like it does on WOLED TVs and other monitors, but on the XG27AQDMG it's happening basically everywhere and it's very distracting.

I'm happy to provide more videos / photos if needed. I'm pretty sure a firmware update can solve or at least make this issue much less noticeable.

It's also happening here on the forum, which is kind of ironic.

Thank you!
