If you're using the ROG Strix XG27ACDNG and experiencing any of the following:
Rapid black screen flickers (especially with Anti-Flicker enabled at 360Hz)
Hard freezes with no BSOD (requiring a full reboot)
ALT+Tab blackouts every single time from fullscreen
G-Sync/VRR instability
Any of the above making your premium monitor feel like a paperweight
Trust me and just Install firmware MCM103... It fixes ALL of it 😌
At 360Hz + Anti-Flicker (Mid/High), I'd get constant screen blinking: every 10 to 60 seconds, without fail every game.
Whenever I ALT + Tabbed from fullscreen? Instant 2–3 second black screen every single time, no exception.
Random hard freezes, full system lock-up, RGB in case stuck, no mouse input, had to power cycle manually.
G-Sync/V-Sync stuttering, and overall instability with VRR.
Even dropping to 240Hz via NVIDIA Control Panel only stopped the in game Anti-Flicker buggy flickering — the rest still happened.
360Hz is now fully stable, no flickers even with Anti-Flicker enabled.
ALT+Tabbing is INSTANT, zero blackout delay.
No more hard system crashes or freezes.
G-Sync runs buttery smooth, zero issues.
Not a single issue since flashing MCM103... it’s genuinely like a different monitor.
ASUS didn’t mention any of this in the patch notes. Just minor OSD tweaks. But this update silently fixed what made the monitor borderline unusable - I wasn’t just considering an RMA, I had the return instructions in my inbox 😡
TL;DR — Firmware MCM103 silently fixes:
360Hz + Anti-Flicker screen flicker
Full system hard freezes (no BSOD)
ALT+Tab blackouts (2–3 sec every time from fullscreen)
VRR / G-Sync instability and random lockups
Install MCM103 TRUST ME 🤝
(I know this is a lot — I’m a Computer Science major, so I kinda write like a changelog sometimes. Sorry for the overkill.)
