XG27ACDNG FW and KVM issues

Hi,

I just bought Asus XG27ACDNG. I love the picture quality and the performance in games but I've also got some problems with the monitor. I've tried updating the firmware with One Key update but the program says:

Display model: Device not found

Firmware status: FAIL

I've read pretty much every reddit and forum post that might help me with this issue but still the problem persists.

For me more major problem is that the KVM switch does not work. It doesn't seem to recognize mouse and keyboard. KVM is on during standby, KVM auto detection is on HDMI is USB-B and USB-C's KVM setting is set to USB-C. It seems like the monitors USB-ports deliver power as my mouses lights turn on when plugged in. I do get video signal from USB-C. Do you have any idea what might help?

I updated mobo BIOS and latest Windows updates and plugged my monitor with DP cable. Now DisplayWidget Center recognizes my monitor model but still KVM does not work and I cannot update monitors firwmware.

Hi, you need a usb cable from pc to the monitor

USB-cable provided with the monitor is connected to the PC

I have the same issue. I tried to flash MCM102 over MCM101 via USB-B first. Did all according to the manual. The flashing process began... and it just failed.

After that I tried the same with the an fat32-formatted usb-stick. Put the file into root and put it into the correct usb-slot (all according to the manual). After pushing the button for 5 seconds, my other connected devices had been disconnected and the flash failed as well.

Now I have the situation that both flash methods don't recognise my display model anymode (the display widget center does). Flashing is impossible. The USB-Hub from the monitor stopped to function. Reset and other things I tried were without success. The USB-hub is literally dead.

I then registered my new display in the asus dashboard, and I am told that I have no warranty. What the hell?

I have just had the identical issue to you, but have not attempted to update via USB C yet. Have you worked out any solution? I would like to avoid losing the ability to update altogether if I try via USB C and it fails.

No solution yet unfortunately. I tried USB-C too but it fails as well.

Support have offered me another monitor via RMA, seems a bit drastic but you might have the same luck. Not gonna bother trying to update the firmware on the new one ahahah
