Swift PG279Q ULMB??

Hey guys loving the monitor so far my only little problem is getting ULMB to work...

Now i'm not sure if i'm doing it wrong or right but i set the monitor to 120hz, turn g-sync off, then ulmb becomes available in the menu, when i turn it on the screen darkens ( perfectly normal ), soon as i leave the menu the screen turns off, and only comes back on when i press any of the menu buttons, soon as i exit the menu, screen goes off again...bit frustrating is there something im not doing or is this a fault?

Ah okay, well the pulse width does take effect as soon as you change the slider as you can see the brightness change as you do it. It's not so obvious in the video as the camera is always trying to adjust to the light conditions, so you can see ULMB in effect and then the screen just goes completely dark once the OSD is closed. Even when I manage to get the screen showing with ULMB enabled, opening the OSD and closing it just makes it go dark again.

Tomorrow I will be taking the screen to hook up to someone else's PC, which then may shed a light on whether it's an issue with the monitor or my pc.

Dunno what is the issue with yours but the QC is terrible. I had 6 of them, with 5 having issues with BLB flashlight gsync and one of them having a red hue, had to reduce red to 80 to be acceptable.

try to reset the monitor and remove the display cable on both ends, it may not be 100% firm on the plugs.

GL man with it

Hi,

try create custom resolution in nVidia panel with 119Hz (all else equal like 120Hz or 144Hz)

the only thing that helped me, but I know that's not a solution... something is wrong

Thanks for going to the effort of testing it, I tried this today on a friends PC and the monitor has the same issue as on my PC. However, I did find that ULMB did work under 85 or 100Hz, just not 120Hz. I had thought I had tried other refresh rates on my PC, so I will try that again later when i get home.

I just tried this and it worked as you said. The custom mode is set to 119, the OSD displays ULMB@120Hz, but the screen stays on when I close the OSD.

I've just issued a refund request to Amazon, it's a real shame as apart from this ULMB issue the monitor was spot on in all other aspects. Since this is the second one I've received with the same issue I think I'll wait a bit until I hear better reports of people receiving non-defective monitors.

I am also having this issue, all of the temp fixes you guys mentioned work. For reference I tried NVidia drivers on the driver disk and current (361.75). I'm running 2x GTX Titan X and have tried disabling SLI. Neither of the temp solutions allow me to switch "Monitor Technology" on the NV control panel for per application control. If the monitor runs anything gsync first it will not switch to ULMB. It goes to a fixed refresh rate and I have to apply ULMB through the OSD. Also, the monitor is a December 2015.
