Strix XG49WCR: Firmware Update via USB Stuck at 1%?

I'm attempting to update my monitor's firmware from MCM101 to MCM103 via USB stick. It's a 32GB FAT32 formatted stick. I put the file on the root and named it per the PDF instructions, and it looks like the monitor found the file, but it's been sitting at 1% for ages now.

Any ideas on if anything's wrong here? I use mac and linux machines, so I can't attempt using the ASUS windows utility.

Update: I'm now trying another USB stick, but I'm getting `Fail` trying to find the file

Have you connected the usb-a to usb-b cable to your monitor and pc? You need this to do the update.

It looks similar to a printer cable, it connects to number 6 in the photo and a usb port on your pc.
