PG42UQ Vertical Color Bands Issue

Hello,

I’ve been using my PG42UQ without issues until recently, when I noticed vertical color bands, most visible on lighter shades (see attached image). This started a few days ago, seemingly after updating NVIDIA drivers for my RTX 5090. Despite rolling back drivers with a clean DDU install, the problem persists. The monitor is connected via DisplayPort.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

  • Swapped DisplayPort cables and ports
  • Updated firmware to 0.40
  • Adjusted Windows 11 and NVIDIA display settings
  • Performed a factory reset and multiple pixel cleaning sessions

None of these resolved the issue. I’m wondering if this indicates permanent display damage or if there’s a settings tweak or known fix, especially related to recent driver/firmware updates. Has anyone else with a PG42UQ experienced this after similar updates? Any advice would be appreciated.
