PG348Q and Windows Icons

Level 7
I got my monitor about two weeks ago and I have a GTX 980TI running Windows 7. Pretty much every other day, when I turn on my pc, the icons on my screen get pushed all the way to the left. I have various programs and folders and want them in a specific spot. I fix it and it happens again. Anyone else have this issue? Fixes?
Thanks in advance,
M.

try deleting that registry key. It's what holds the arranement of your desktop. its probably corrupt or something like that and won't save your arrangement properly. If that doesn't work you could try the following

create a new user profile in windows and logon to it then open regedit and export the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\clsid\], keep this to have as backup on the new user, now go back to your corrupt user and export the same key grab the exported reg file from your corrupt account and run it on your fresh profile, logout / login if your fresh profile now have the same problem you can assume some key in there is the cause.

Good luck.

This isn't actually a fix for the issue, but it is a work around that is good if you don't really worry about having the extra software loaded up on your PC. Also if you don't want to troubleshoot the issue due to lack of confidence messing with the registry. I personally am a kind of person who just reinstalls my entire windows OS anytime I start having issues. Its about 50% of me wanting to just start a clean build because of hardware updates and 50% just being lazy and not caring to fix the issue.
