Hi folks!

Last I heard was that this monitor would be releasing in December 2015. I was curious if anyone knew more information.

Thanks!

For those interested: http://velocitymicro.com/buy-asus-swift-pg348Q.php
VelocityMicro has sent out an e-mail to those waiting for it, that they have some of the monitors in stock and ready to ship as early as 3/21.
I myself had never heard of the company/site before, but it seems to be 'decent', according to the reviews I looked up of it.

I will wait it out with Amazon, as I trust it much better than this random website. Namely, I don't know their methods for RMA or how they handle customer quality complaints.
There's also no telling just WHERE they've obtained these monitors. Perhaps they got the shipments that have been recalled from the major retailers (Amazon/Newegg) and instead decided to just 'sell them anyway' at risk of poor quality.

If you want it from the US and are willing for the risk, the option is there for anyone who wants it I suppose.
Just figured I would let anyone still interested know. I will wait for Amazon, though.

Seems like a shady system builder. Frankly I have no idea why they got priority over normal consumers when they are just selling them piecemeal anyway.

This is not starting to look good now we might have to wait till May got this information in this article from anandtech.com this is the article if you want to read it http://www.anandtech.com/show/10156/asus-starts-to-ship-its-first-curved-ultrawide-display-rog-swift...

Given the first line of that article I dunno about the May listing they said. Frankly given the feedback I have seen for the PG348Q vs the X34 I am waiting however long it takes for the PG348Q.

Yes but my point of contention is that they start the article with "ASUS this week began to ship its first gaming curved ultra-wide display, the ROG Swift PG348Q" and then go on to say it will ship in May.

So, I told myself that if the X34 ever showed up on their recertified site... I'd buy it.
Well, it did. And since I have this magical ability to 'randomly' check up on an item when it happens to be there, I managed to snag it during the 2-3 hour window that they were available. 😛
[Keep in mind, I still have my pre-order for the ASUS with Amazon. Worst case scenario I can re-sell one or the other if one isn't to my liking. :P]

So it's arrived today and I've been testing it in and setting it up, etc. etc...
And for a "Recertified"? It's pretty near perfect.
There IS a little bit of backlight bleed on the edges of the top right, top left, and bottom left corners (weirdly not the bottom right?), but... it's honestly pretty negligible. And really, it only shows up if there's absolute black EVERYWHERE (because if there's something brighter than black near it, you'll see THAT color, not backlight bleed).
Is for the refresh rate overclock? I was actually expecting it not to work, or at best 90-95 Hz. .. NOPE! 100 Hz, perfectly fine. [Tested playing it in CS:GO and Fallout 4]
If there is coil whine? I can honestly say I don't notice it... but then again, I rarely sit in pure silence to hear such small details anyway...

All in all, worth the $730. ^_~
I'll still be waiting for the PG348Q, but until that time... Acer has come through with a REFURB better than ASUS has with their whole PR.
