PG32UQX 4k 144hz 10bit or 8bit + FRC?

I am a new owner of the amazing Asus ROG PG32UQX. Like the title says, is it capable of 10bit HDR at 4K 144hz or is 120Hz the limit for true 10bit HDR color? I’ve seen some reviews stating at 144Hz it drops to 8bit + FRC. Also, this is all under DSC(Display Stream Compression) and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection. Thank you for your time!

 Hello,

Ignore my first post.

I just got confirmation that the PG32UQX does indeed support 10-bit at 4k 120Hz and 8-bit+FRC at 4k 144Hz.

Hello UTVOL06,

While my monitor supports 10-bit I don't have the 120Hz-144Hz refresh rate.

I have an Nvidia graphics card, I can set 8 or10 bit color depth in the Nvidia control panel.

I suppose you can set it to 10-bit and try 144Hz and see if it drops to 8-bit?

 Hello,

Ignore my first post.

Thank you, I have since lowered my refresh rate to 120Hz @ 10bit while using HDR in games, like Battlefield 2042. BF2042 looks amazing in HDR, the contrast and lighting really make the characters, vehicles, and landscape pop out at you. Going back to the SDR version looked flat and bland. Now I’m spoiled! Thanks again!

You're welcome

I don't have it but The PG32UQX is an awesome gaming monitor, it sounds like you're really enjoying it and I'm happy to hear it !

Yes, absolutely love this new monitor. I had the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 240hz before this one and I had a hard time getting used to the curved display. Also, the monitor was not usable at 240hz as it produced noticeable scan lines.

Without a doubt the best monitor out now.  If your interested, hardforum has a great thread under the display subforum for te PG32UQX.  Lots of good info from users there that goes back to pre launch.

You don’t happen to have a link to the hard forum page so you? Thank you!
