PG32UCDP Firmware update problem

Hi!

I'm having trouble updating my monitor firmware, the updater recognizes the wrong version(writes this version:156156156) and therefore the update fails. I have screenshots. I bought the monitor two days ago and it still has the factory firmware. I did everything as described.Képernyőkép 2024-09-14 193419.pngKépernyőkép 2024-09-14 193807.png

Based on the provided information and the screenshot, it seems you're encountering a firmware update issue with your PG32UCDP monitor. The updater is incorrectly identifying the current firmware version, leading to the update failure.

Troubleshooting Steps:

1) Verify Firmware Version:

Manually Check:

Some monitors allow you to check the firmware version directly from their on-screen display (OSD) menu. Consult your monitor's user manual for specific instructions.

Use a Different Method:

If you can't find the firmware version in the OSD, try using a different method, such as connecting the monitor to a computer and checking the display settings or using a dedicated firmware update tool.

2) Download the Correct Firmware:

ASUS Website:

Ensure you're downloading the firmware update specifically designed for your PG32UCDP model from the ASUS website.

Check Compatibility:

Verify that the downloaded firmware version matches the correct model and is compatible with your monitor's current version.

3) Try a Different Update Method:

USB Update:

If possible, try updating the firmware using a USB drive. Some monitors support this method. Follow the instructions provided in the user manual.

On-Screen Menu:

If your monitor has an on-screen menu option for firmware updates, try using that.

4) Check for BIOS Updates:

In some cases, a BIOS update on your computer might be necessary for the monitor's firmware updater to work correctly. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for any available BIOS updates.

5) Contact ASUS Support:

If the above steps don't resolve the issue, reach out to ASUS support for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or provide a solution tailored to your situation.

Additional Tips:

1) Disconnect Other Devices:

Temporarily disconnect any unnecessary devices from your computer or monitor to avoid potential conflicts.

2) Use a Reliable Power Source:

Ensure you're using a stable and reliable power source for both your computer and monitor.

3) Check for Physical Damage:

Inspect the monitor for any visible damage, as this could be affecting its functionality.

If that monitor has a USB hub connected to your computer, I would suggest unplugging that first. My firmware of my PG27AQDM failed while I had the USB hub plugged in. The documentation from ASUS is extremely poor here (seems like it was written in Taiwanese and translated to English poorly). If that is something the monitor has, try unplugging that before attempting the update.
