pg32ucdm kvm issues

Hi,

I wanted to post my issues and shortcomings of the kvm I have experienced in hopes a future firmware update will fix these issues.

My setup:

  • Bios: MCM108
  • Have keyboard and mouse connected though monitor usb hub
  • Run displayport and usb to my main computer
  • Run usbc to work computer
  • Monitor: ROG pg32ucdm

When I bought the monitor I had small issues with the KVM, I dont remember what bios but others on the form say it was 105. I updated to 108 and now have a bunch of issues that I wanted to highlight to hopefully be addressed.

Issues:

  • If there is no active awake computer outputting to the display, There is no way to manually swap the kvm in the settings, this is when using manual mode. My work computer is a laptop which is always on but needs a mouse/keyboard movement to wake. This issue forces me to either first start my main computer, then once the display is on, swap the kvm, or keep my laptop active while plugging it in, then swap display input on monitor.
  • Auto kvm detect doesnt work properly described by @jcj83429
  • The keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Q is hit or miss and seems to not work when one computer is asleep
  • When the keyboard shortcut works and is used, Ctrl, Alt, Q and maybe Shift keys will be held. This can be solved by clicking them multiple times after swapping in quick succession to deactivate them.
  • Keyboard shortcut and manual kvm usb switching will sometimes swap itself back if it doesnt detect a signal on the other end.

These are some of the issues that would be great a new firmware could address. I will come back if there are any more that I find or might be forgetting. Thanks for future solution / fix.
