PG32UCDM Firmware Version And Concern

Humble-Marionbe

I just bought a PG32UCDM from a major retailer in-person this week and when I checked the firmware, it was on MCM103.
They told me that they just got new stock, so that's why I'm concerned. A friend of mine bought his PG32UCDM online and his came on MCM106.

My serial number starts with S7L and my friend's is S9L.
Is there a reason why MCM106 is not available on the ASUS website? Do you think I was sold old stock/a refurbished/returned monitor?

I read some other posts on here, someone thinks ASUS used alternative hardware that only supports MCM106. Another dude thinks it's a new rev.

Why don't you just check the manufacture date on the back of the monitor?  That'd be the easiest way to address your concern.

I'm almost certain your friend's manufacture date is NEWER than your monitor.

Even though this retailer got "new stock", it may have been old stock sitting in a warehouse somewhere that was just shipped to them.  So, to them, it's still new, but it may not be new in the sense that it just came from the factory.

I can't find the manufacture date on the monitor, but I'll figure it out.

They are an authorized ASUS seller, does the stock come from ASUS directly? Regardless, why is old stock sitting around?

Also, is there a major difference between old and new stock? More related to quality assurance or revs?

Well, you've chosen ASUS 🤡brand what else can you expect from them??😂 Other brands at least tries to give proper service & support but here that's not the case. In future don't make this mistake again by choosing cash grab 🤑brand like ASUS.
