PG27VQ EU Availability?

AlexTheRepublic

Hi,

Excuse my pertinent question, but I would appreciate to know when the PG27VQ will be available in (Eastern) Europe. I am very eager to see it in real life but I wanna manage my time wisely and by telling me a general date or period of time (hopefully being in the near future) would help me tremendously.

Thanks in advance.

Hold on a little longer if you can, it's not a good feeling to find out something newer came along but you couldn't wait. 😉

Hey, MasterC

My patience has ended when I saw the discounted MG278Q at a local retailer, so have decided to save money and buy it. What do you think?

Not really, no. I have given up on this monitor anyway and have gone for the much cheaper MG278Q. I will keep you posted when it will be available on my local retailer's website.

Hi AlexTheRepublican,

Everybody loves a bargain! With 2K resolution, 144Hz, and 1ms response time, the MG278Q certainly has gaming credentials! Do you have an AMD graphics card? The curved screen and Aura Sync make the PG27VQ very tempting (especially if you already have or plan to get other Aura-Sync products), but let's be honest, you won't be a better gamer 🙂 However, if you have an NVIDIA card, then G-SYNC can make a considerable difference.

Thanks for your kind reply. As my public spec sheet says, I currently own a Strix 1070, but come on, is G-Sync that amazing? Isn't a simple frame rate cap of 144 Hz the same?

Hi AlexTheRepublican,

G-SYNC isn't just a simple frame rate cap, it ensures the frame rate matches the refresh rate so you can get the most out of your card while keeping the picture pristine. When the graphics card works harder, it'll be easier to see the difference. If you cap the frame rate to match the refresh rate, the frame rate may drop below the threshold. It is really, really difficult for the frame rate to not drop below 144fps...

My experience matches what you say exactly, but since I only play games like League of Legends and occasionally triple AAA games, the 144 Hz are just perfect. But really, I cannot wait for AMOLED panels and thus ASUS ROG AMOLED gaming monitors. I'm sure they're coming so until then I'll have to stick to this one. Any thoughts on this topic? Also, why haven't you posted more often these three years, sir? Just a curious and honest question.

P.S.: I'm asking since I see you're an admin.
P.S. 2: I'm really happy to be part of this kind and chill community of ROGers.
