Just checked: PG27 production starts now in May, so mid/late May/early June for first markets depending on how it's being shipped.

Not sure X series yet. It's often mostly waiting for mass-production of panel availability and/or mass production to meet a certain quality standard.

For the record: Monitors don't wait for graphics cards. They just launch on their own schedule.*

On this retailer site, the Acer Predator X27 is listed as to be shipped April 5th. Because ASUS usually release their version a little earlier than Acer/the other manufacturers, it is likely that the PG27UQ will be released (assuming that shipping date is correct) during March, this would also still stick to the Q1 2018 release window.

Best to ask your local store. If you have one that is a specialist in high performance or displays they are more likely to stock.

From ASUS' side we never want to limit a product availability. But sometimes there is a roll-out schedule if supply is limited and ultimately it's always up to our partners to decide whether to stock a product.

I actually do not believe that because last year I had to import a UX330CA (aka the fanless i3 one) from Lithuania, as it was - despite being shown as flagship ultrabook on ASUS website - never available in these countries _anywhere_:
- USA
- Germany
- UK
and I'm pretty sure you are not going to tell me that in these major countries magically all your "partners" at the same time decided they don't want to offer the fanless flagship ultrabook..
In turn, it _was_ available in..
- Canada (but with non-english keyboard only, some weird special Canadian layout)
- France
- Italy
- Switzerland
- Norway
- Finland
and a few more I forgot, but only in Estonia and Lithuania it would actually have (US) english keyboard, so that's why I imported from there.
What the heck that was, I was so baffled, still don't understand. On the plus side, I got the 512 GB (they all have SSD only) version from that lithuanian shop for around 950$ which I considered a pretty good deal.

My previous PG27UQ which I returned due to too many dead pixels only allowed me to set the Reference White up to 300. The new one I received (which unfortunately has defective pixels as well) allows me to set the Reference White up to 500 nits. Which means that I can make an image even brighter than my previous unit. This isn't of much practical use in the majority of cases as going above 200 is usually too bright, however there are a few HDR videos I've tried which only look decent at 500 and look dull on my previous unit when set at the max of 300. So why does this particular unit allow an adjustable range of 20 - 500 when the manual only states a range of 20 - 300? Do I have a special unlocked unit?

Hi guys,

Not sure if anyone else had this issue. Play a game as normal. PG27UQ power failed completely, can't power it back up.

Purchased a replacement power brick of the exact same spec, it arrived yesterday, tried it last night, no luck.

Plug power in, power light cuts out after 1-2 seconds then nothing.

Sending it back for a full replacement.

I have resolved the issue just by restarting my pc. lol

I'd imagine late Q2 to Q3 release but that's a guess at best.

Getting so sick of waiting for the PG27UQ. What the hell delayed this monitor an ENTIRE YEAR? We were supposed to have it last year.

If it's not ready it's not ready, would rather not have if yet if that's the case.

The delay doesn't inspire much confidence in the quality of the product whenever it is released. ASUS will likely say they delayed to make sure the product is right when it comes out, but I think a lot of us are skeptical. I, for one, won't jump right on it, but I'll wait to see what bugs are reported by the early adopters. I've been waiting for the 35" version, but just might go with Alienware--despite the lack of HDR. I've read some reviews that HDR has been over hyped and the SDR comparisons were deliberately misadjusted to look worse.

Just put a few facts here:
3440x1440 at 200fps requires more power than a single 1080Ti can deliver.
And everybody says SLI is dead. Game developers give up on SLI. Game engines like Unreal Engine 4 prohibit the utilization of SLI.
And GPUs are overpriced. Miners are richer.
And...nothing is exciting here. The monitor probably won't be released until a new generation of GPUs emerges on the market.

Unreal Engine 4 enabled SLI since a lot.
Gears of War 4 has perfect scaling in SLI using UE4
