Just checked: PG27 production starts now in May, so mid/late May/early June for first markets depending on how it's being shipped.

Not sure X series yet. It's often mostly waiting for mass-production of panel availability and/or mass production to meet a certain quality standard.

For the record: Monitors don't wait for graphics cards. They just launch on their own schedule.*

On this retailer site, the Acer Predator X27 is listed as to be shipped April 5th. Because ASUS usually release their version a little earlier than Acer/the other manufacturers, it is likely that the PG27UQ will be released (assuming that shipping date is correct) during March, this would also still stick to the Q1 2018 release window.

Damn , Ive Waited over a year...guess I can wait longer. I just hope they dont release them if they have black crush and ghosting issues.Hope they are also available without tobii eye tracking to bring the price down a bit.

Hey is there any updates on when the firmware update will be available for these monitors? I love the monitor but things are a little too black/dark when overclocked.

Can anyone explain 98 HZ HDR vs 120HZ HDR to me?

Right now I have
98 HZ
4K HDR
4:4:4 colour
10 bit

At 120 HZ what am I sacrificing for the HDR? TFT Central says I have the option of doing:

120HZ
4K HDR
4:4:4 No Chroma Subsampling
8 bit colour

Is the above correct? Because there have been posts online saying the above is for SDR ONLY and HDR is only possible with the below

120HZ
4K HDR
4:2:2 Chroma Subsampling
10 bit colour

I finally gave in and purchased an Asus PG27UQ. So far it's a super nice upgrade (coming from a triple monitor setup with 3 Asus 248Q which are 24" 1080p 60hz TN panels). Before I get too complacent with the upgrade though I thought I'd double check to be sure that the PG27UQ has an acceptable amount of backlight bleed while I can still swap it out if needed. Coming from the old terrible TN panels anything looks good to my eyes currently lol.

It seems to have a bit in the top right and left of the screen (more on the right). Here are a couple screenshots (1 more realistic, 1 taken in complete darkness to overexpose/over exaggerate it). Both are with the FALD turned off and brightness maxed out.

Are PG27UQ with mfd july, august 2018 quieter than the early revision from june 2018 ?

I read something about a new revision which has been released by Asus at the end of july 2018.

Mine is pretty quiet but I haven't did any gaming on it yet. Looking at the fan it looks much better than the one I saw in the Acer version at least (Acer version is a super flat rounded blade fan, Asus version has a chunky blade fan like the image below). Asus provides some nice long standoffs to use with a VESA mount (which is what I'm using) so it gets plenty of airflow as well.

Where would you see the revision number? On the box or on the monitor itself?

75686

vs

75685

You can see the manufacturing date on the label, behind the monitor.

The PG27UQ looks like this inside.

2 crappy fans. One spins with 2400 rpm (which isnt silent) and the other with 600 rpm ;).

I haven't tested it myself yet (waiting on my 2080 TI to come in, my current video card can't push higher than 4K 60hz) but I've watched a video where someone used 120hz/4K HDR/4:4:4/8 bit. He even showed how it was displaying 10 bit patterns properly even though the monitor was set to 8 bit which was odd (so in essence he was basically running 120hz/4K HDR/4:4:4/10 bit).
