Just checked: PG27 production starts now in May, so mid/late May/early June for first markets depending on how it's being shipped.

Not sure X series yet. It's often mostly waiting for mass-production of panel availability and/or mass production to meet a certain quality standard.

For the record: Monitors don't wait for graphics cards. They just launch on their own schedule.*

On this retailer site, the Acer Predator X27 is listed as to be shipped April 5th. Because ASUS usually release their version a little earlier than Acer/the other manufacturers, it is likely that the PG27UQ will be released (assuming that shipping date is correct) during March, this would also still stick to the Q1 2018 release window.

To PG27UQ owners, the monitor has 6 GameVisual modes, for stuff like FPS,RTS,Scenary, sRGB, etc. What mode would you use universally? I really dont like switching back and forth through modes. Do you guys switch through modes? If not, what mode would you recommend for permanant usage. There's no standard mode.

Well, when i play colorful game such as Crash Bandicoot n'sane trilogy i use sRGB because sRGB seems to have enhanced colors. When im watching movies or playing other games i stick to FPS mode.

But i think that i will stay with FPS mode in the futur because sometime the sRGB just hurt my eyes, its colors are just to much enhanced sometimes.

Well I dont understand why we need so many different color profiles. Racing Mode seems to be the default, so I guess the best calibrated setting out of box is on this setting?

How is your monitor blooming?

could please do a test for me please? make the background black on windows and add an icon on bottom right corner like my image. Also move the mouse on right edge area please to see blooming

Is as bad as this image?

i have also added images on HDR

So I just got my PG27UQ today. I am using a dual monitor set up with a 1080p TN panel I have had for the last 6 years. While this monitor absolutely blows it away, the TN panels (VG278H) seems to have whiter whites. I am genuinely concerned about it. It's tiring for my eyes to see such a drastic difference. The camera captures the difference pretty accurately.

Any ideas what to do? (PG27UQ left vs VG278H right)

your $2,000 monitor is factory calibrated with a $7,000 meter. Your $200 monitor is not. Buy a calibration meter for your cheap monitor and use something like Calman RGB.

Haha so true. I've been so used to it. I managed to fiddle with the color settings and they both look a lot better, a lot closer to one another. In overall, this monitor is hell of a jump man. Freaken 4k HDR is beautiful, regardless of the FPS. Though the one thing I'm not sure about is do I have to leave HDR on all the time? Cause netflix and youtube have HDR, and having to manually turn on HDR everytime I want to watch something sounds annoying.

Edit: The fan got really loud after extended usage, pretty annoying.

I dont see blooming unless I look at the monitor on an angle. Kind of weird that it works like that, but it is what it is. I see some light blooming if I game in a dark room, but I dont do that, so it's not a problem for me.

Yeah I don't game in dark room either. Hopefully it's not a problem when I get my hands on it.

You have any OLED or FALD TVs? How does the monitor compare to those TVs in term of contrast/colors?
