Just checked: PG27 production starts now in May, so mid/late May/early June for first markets depending on how it's being shipped.

Not sure X series yet. It's often mostly waiting for mass-production of panel availability and/or mass production to meet a certain quality standard.

For the record: Monitors don't wait for graphics cards. They just launch on their own schedule.*

On this retailer site, the Acer Predator X27 is listed as to be shipped April 5th. Because ASUS usually release their version a little earlier than Acer/the other manufacturers, it is likely that the PG27UQ will be released (assuming that shipping date is correct) during March, this would also still stick to the Q1 2018 release window.

For reference, see the posts in this thread:

I wouldn't have thought that the firmware that runs the UI, buttons etc would have anything to do with the ongoing problems. It's more likely to be the one on the actual scaler ASIC board which is 1 level down from the one you're referring to.

Makes sense, it was just the first thing that came to mind.

i think they just expect a price of around 2500€ and added a bit to not sell these without earning some extra cash!

How is it possible for the X27 to arrive before PG27UQ? They're both the same panel so the same 'firmware issue' will affect both and is still being worked on. I take it this firmware issue affects the LCD driver board which should be common across both models.

I cannot speak for other brands, but we're still co-working actively with Nvidia and will be until mere days before (what we both consider) final code is sent to factory for production + ship (well, fly) out.

I'm not talking about price because it's a channel/sales negotiation I'm not in the sphere of. We and virtually everyone else in the PC industry sells to distributors and retailers, who then sell to consumers - it's not direct, so it's not like Apple saying xyz product will be abc price. Recommend to wait and see.

ridiculous, it doesn't worth even the half of the price.
