PG278QR Color Loop Pattern when on standby - Factory menu showing up - Temporary fix

When my monitor is in standby mode, it flashes red, yellow, blue, green. Like a color loop. After some reading (https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-series-monitors-pg-xg/pg279q-stuck-in-debug-factory-mode/td-p/6803...) & (https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-series-monitors-pg-xg/pg278q-color-loop-pattern-when-on-standby/td...) I found it was the factory mode, debug,  or something like that.

I tried everything in both those posts. Nothing worked and I'm not under warranty to do a RMA. From the reading it looks like its a motherboard issue within the monitor.

What has cured the issue for now is disabling G-Sync in the Nvida Control Panel

Steps:

Open Nvidia Control Panel

Under "Display"

Click "Set up G-SYNC"

Under "1. Apply Following Changes", deselect the box for "Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible"

Hit apply.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks.
