PG278Q-Half green screen on first use.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else had encountered this issue with their PG278Q on first use. First time turning on the monitor half the screen was green and remained like this until the logon screen appeared, then it was slightly visible under the logon image.

After logging on I could see the complete desktop background but with some distortion on the left side. I unplugged cables etc. to see if it made a difference but nothing changed. After rebooting it disappeared and seems to be ok now.

Does anyone know what might cause this, and if so if it’s something that will return or is a reason to seek a replacement?
I’m not sure yet if there are any other problems with the monitor as I haven’t had time to test it.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Mine was working fine for 2 days until i switched it on one morning and got the exact same issue as you. I'm returning mine today in the hopes i'll get a replacement straight away without having to wait for new stock to come in.

I'm getting this, but not nearly as severe as both of you. Just every other vertical line is discolored. It is very noticeable on grey backgrounds...

Did you ever find a fix?

I'm getting something similar. I bought this screen 2 days ago and on the first use, during random web browsing, I noticed the right side of the screen taking on a greenish hue in vertical lines.

At first I thought it was just something to do with the monitor getting warmed up or something because it went away quickly and when gaming I haven't noticed it at all. it seems to only appear when I'm web browsing and it's fairly intermittent as well.

just had a look and the manufacture date on mine is August 2014, which from reading I'm taking to be the problem month.

Mine is made september 2015 and got the same problem, so it's not something that is specific to early production runs.

Check if the signal cable (VGA / DVI / HDMI) is connected well, and confirmed the other end of the output cable has been firmly connected to computer input port (graphics card). Unplug and plug 2-terminals again and make sure all the pins aren't bent.
Replace other identical signal cable (VGA / DVI / HDMI) to take cross-test

If there has other screen, try it to confirm whether the screen is normal.
Sincerely,
TY

It's one of many faults with this monitor, it is not the cable, the gpu or anything else. It seemed to be working as it should for 30 mins before it crapped out.

Does the monitor works okay with another computer? Did you do a reset the monitor? Did you try all different refresh rate?
Sincerely,
TY

Good Morning.

Monitor purchased on January 10, 2016 (manufacturing date : September 2015) .It worked perfectly for two days. On the third day of use , I had the same problem: left middle green screen, but after 5 minutes the problem has disappeared and continue working. It has set itself.

Also playing any games, like Counter Strike (2560×1440_120Hz and 2560×1440_144Hz) have several incidents. I put two images.
Playing 2560×1440_60Hz no issues.
