No 144hz - Asus pg279q

Hello, yesterday I got brand new Asus pg279q.. Quality is good, some small glow effects...

the problem is that in settings(either at nvidia control panel or screen settings there is no 144hz). Max setting is 120hz.

I have tried older drivers, the newest one but the problem is the same. I also installed monitor drivers but no success.

I have gtx 790 if that matter.

What am I doing wrong.

same problem to me. The highest Hz rate ist 120Hz. I also tried to manually add the 144Hz mode in Nvidia system panel, but nothing happens...

My system has the latest drivers. The GPU: 2x GTX 760 via SLI

You're probably using DVI cable, I believe you need Display Port cable to reach 144hz at 1440p

No, I am using the DisplayPort cable and I checked the GPU has also a DisplayPort 1.2 like the display..

has anyone else an idea?!

Sorry, it turns out the GTX760 does not have a high enough pixel clock to output 1440p at 144hz refresh rate. Confirmed by reddit posts.

- 165Hz G-SYNC mode is ONLY supported on GTX 960 and above, GTX 700 series only support upto 120Hz!!

I am currently running dual 780TI's and I knew about ahead that the 700 series did not support the 165hz refresh rate. Kind of sad but not for me because I will be purchasing the next series cards that are coming out in the next half a year or so.

I have an rog g751jt-wh71 it has dual 970m , I cant gsync on mine too.. 2560x1440 @ 60hz
